Our Story

Although the number of sports and activities available for female athletes in the Las Vegas Valley has been steadily increasing in the past several years, there has never been an option for a “girls-only” football league. The Desert Girls Flag Football League is the first ever non-contact football league exclusively for all girls in Grades 5 through 12. Our fun, competitive leagues and clinics allow for girls of all experience levels to develop their skills as individuals, as well as growing as a member of a team. Our girls will leave the Desert Girls Flag Football League with the skill necessary to complete in flag football while learning importance life skills such as teamwork, sacrifice, and perseverance.
Since Girls Flag Football became a high school sport in the Clark County School District in 2012, the sports popularity has exploded in Las Vegas. With some schools having over 100 girls signing up to try out for their schools team, the Desert Girls Flag Football League seeks to prepare our athletes with the skills, abilities, and confidence necessary to be successful in any league and in life.
The benefits of participating in youth sports speak for itself. Girls who participate in youth sports are more likely to achieve higher levels of academic success and graduate from high school, have higher self-esteem, lower levels of depression, and have a more positive body image and experience higher states of psychological well-being.
